Better Left Unsaid

We sat in the silence of a worn-out goodbye,
You looked out the window, I stared at the sky.
There was so much to say, but I swallowed it down,
Like a ghost in the room that still lingers around.

'Cause some words cut deeper than the tears they might shed,
Some truths ain't worth speakin', they live in your head.
I could've told you how I felt, but I walked out instead—
Some things are better, better left unsaid.

That old porch light flickered as I turned away,
You didn’t chase after, you let me stray.
Now I wonder at night if you ever knew
That I kept my silence to protect me and you.

'Cause some words cut deeper than the tears they might shed,
Some truths ain't worth speakin', they live in your head.
I could've told you how I felt, but I walked out instead—
Some things are better, better left unsaid.

Maybe one day, when we’re older and gray,
We’ll laugh at the things we never did say.
But till that moment, I’ll carry the weight
Of every unsaid line that sealed our fate.

Yeah, some words cut deeper than the tears they might shed,
Some truths ain't worth speakin', they live in your head.
I could've begged you to stay, but I walked out instead—
Some things are better, better left unsaid.
